Cameroonian Nationals Sought After Kidnapping, Rape in Ouesso, Congo Brazzaville
OUESSO, Congo Brazzaville - A manhunt is underway in Ouesso for two Cameroonian nationals suspected of kidnapping and raping a young woman.
The victim's body was found in an advanced state of decomposition earlier today, reigniting xenophobic tensions in the city.
The suspects, identified as Ounchaou and Moussa, allegedly abducted the woman and demanded a ransom. Their whereabouts remain unknown.
Following the initial kidnapping, violence erupted against the Cameroonian community in Ouesso. The attacks subsided but have flared up again with renewed intensity after the discovery of the body.
The Cameroonian government has not yet commented on the incident or the plight of its citizens in Congo Brazzaville.
Local authorities are urging calm and asking residents to cooperate with the investigation.
