Some 400 new CPDM party shirts displayed at the Mbonge Marumba Grandstand recently fuelled a discord between SDF and CPDM militants.
When the CPDM Section President for Meme II, Senator Andrew Otte Mofa, announced that some opposition militants had decamped, commotion engulfed the grandstand.
At first, three persons previously militants of the SDF showed up for decoration in the CPDM party regalia.
While this was in progress, more persons forced their way out of the crowd to the high table for decoration as SDF militants who had decamped to join the CPDM party.
The influx of tens of such persons caused the Section President cum donor of the party fabric, Otte Mofa to suspend the sharing of the party shirts to the new militants.
Otte said the sharing was going to continue after those who changed their former party have registered at the level of CPDM Sub Sections found in their areas of residence.
The sharing of the new party shirts to the SDF militants seemed to have caused other CPDM party sympathisers without the fabric to attempt a smart move to get one.
Given the item on the agenda at that point in time, it was difficult to decipher SDF militants who had decamped to the CPDM.
It was equally difficult to decode those CPDM militants who came out because they wanted to get hold of one of the 400 shirts.
At the time of dressing the new militants, Senator Otte had mentioned the name of one SDF militant before advancing to request for the others to show up for the cross-carpeting ritual.
Given the uncontrolled rush for the shirts, the activity was temporarily suspended.
The CPDM party barons at the occasion moved on to greet the SDF militants who had decamped to the CPDM.
Before now, the Senate Questor brandished the shirts to his comrades at the Section Conference, boasting that it was the first of its kind in the entire Southwest Region.
To him, having already sewn party shirts distributed to militants was a sign of a Section, whose activities at the base remain unshakable.
For the CPDM militants, it was announced that the party shirts will be shared to them at the level of the four court areas that constitute Mbonge Sub Division.

Cameroon has dismissed allegations that her gendarme officers murdered 97 Nigerian fishermen in the Bakassi peninsula.
The incident reportedly happened about two weeks ago.
Cameroon's information minister considers the claims as "baseless" and "unfounded".
However, the minister insists that some Nigerians on cameroonian soil had refused to pay taxes on grounds that they were foreigners.
Every foreigner who respects Cameroon's laws is welcome, he pointed out.
The fishermen, who constituted the majority of the alleged victims, had been killed after they refused to pay a levy on fishing boats , according to media reports.
The Bakassi peninsula is a disputed area at the borders of Nigeria and Cameroon which was ceded to Cameroon in 2005 by Nigeria following a ruling by the International Court of Justice.
Nigeria is currently investigating the allegations.
In the meantime, one wonders why it has taken so long for Cameroon to react.
Some 34 Cameroonian military persons are still missing after their boat capsized on a mission to the Bakassi peninsula.

The Political Desk Editor of The Sun Newspaper, Tilarius Atia, who is one of the numerous Anglophone journalists languishing in pre-trial detention at the Kondengui Maximum Security Prison, has been charged with promoting terrorism.
Tilarius Atia was charged at the Yaounde Military Tribunal recently.
Atia, who was brought before the court in handcuffs, has been in detention since February 9.
It is difficult to say on what grounds the court is basing its charge on.
The Sun’s Political Desk Editor was arrested in Buea alongside Amos Fofung of The Guardian Post Newspaper and the Publisher of the Voice of the Voiceless, Mofor Ndong.
Even though Ndong was present at the Yaounde Military Tribunal, it is not clear if the same charge was slammed on him. Fofung was, however, not brought to court.
The three journalists are not the only media persons arrested in connection with the ongoing crisis in the North West and South West Regions.
The Publisher of the Bamenda-based Life Time Newspaper, Tim Finian Njua, journalist for the Jakari Community Radio, Hans Achumba, Publisher of the Aghem monthly Magazine, Thomas Awah Junior, are all gnashing their teeth in pre-trial detention in Kondengui Prison.
Those who have been charged are accused of violating the 2014 law on the suppression of acts of terrorism. If they are found guilty, they will face death penalties or life imprisonments.
Many peace crusaders and international organisations like the United Nations have called on Government to release all those detained in connection with the Anglophone Crisis as a first step to national dialogue and reconciliation. But Government is giving a deaf ear to these numerous calls.

The accident which occurred with 40 people on board, is reported to have been caused by five trucks that were in the boat.
These vehicles, which were carrying military material, were attached to the boat with chains. At one point, the chains cut loose, turning the vessel over.
Sea waves are said to have been rough when the incident happened. The busy nature caused the chains to get cut.
There are three survivors who are the men that stood outside the boat on surveillance. When the sinking began, they had the chance to jump out meanwhile those who were inside did not notice what was happening immediately to be able to save themselves.
During such journeys, either the military men sleep or are on telephone conversing with their family members. That is one of the reasons why they could not easily be aware of what was going on to quickly react.

Commercial bikers in Kumba, Southwest Region have caused the Meme administration to reverse a six-hour ban on night riding imposed on them on July 5.
The bikers recently mobilised and gathered at the office of the Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, to explain the negative effects the ban will have on their livelihood.
After listening to the riders, the Meme SDO, Chamberlin Ntou'ou Ndong, redirected them to the Kumba City Council where appropriate identification paraphernalia were issued to them.
The new reform that led to the imposition of the night curfew has segmented the bikers according to their Sub Divisions.
The Divisional Officers, DO, of the three Sub Divisions have been charged with the responsibility of issuing the chasubles to the riders after proper identification.
In reaction to the new move, Kumba III Divisional Officer, Gilbert Gubai Baldena, issued a radio announcement referenced No.02/rc/g.39/02/03, informing bikers and bike owners on the new changes.
The announcement dated July 12, reminds the riders “that the wearing of regular chasubles only gives authority to motor-bike riders circulating from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM within the city of Kumba.”
Riders and the owners of bikes are issued the uniform after a joint presentation of their national identity cards.
The reverse in the ban comes less than a week after the administration took the decision to ban night activities of commercial motorcyclist on June 5.
The action was unconnected to the partial burning of the frontage of the Kumba III DO’s Office and a vehicle of the Army Rescue Unit during the same weekend.
Observers interpreted the ban on night riding as a measure to pre-empt night movement of people of bad omen through the use of motor bikes.
Within the same week the ban came into effect, police in Kumba unmasked two separate gangs of armed robbers. One of the gangs had two motor bikes, which they used to facilitate their night operations.
A third gang arrested same week was specialised in the marketing of cannabis sativa, commonly known as marijuana or ''banga'' in Pidgin English.
The administrative ban only helped to provoke the Kumba City Council into taking its responsibility of issuing the said uniforms with identification numbers.
Once a bike is bought, it behoves on the owner to register it at the level of the City Council at the cost of FCFA 7000.
Part of the fee is used to purchase the uniforms, which makes commercial riders easy to trace.
The numbers on the uniform correspond to a data concerning the said machine and the rider.
In the administrative note uplifting the ban, the administration stated that the action was instituted for the purpose of strengthening security and order in the city.
