Cameroon's International Clinton Njie has revealed he turned down transfer interest from arch rivals Arsenal to sign for Tottenham side this week. The former Lyon forward signed a five-year deal at White Hart Lane after the two clubs settled on a £10.5million fee for the exciting 21-year-old.
Pochettino is determined to add extra firepower to his attack in the remaining two weeks of the transfer window and Njie is the first of what’s expected to be a busy fortnight for the Lilywhites. And Njie has ensured he’ll receive a great welcome from supporters by revealing he turned down Arsene Wenger’s side to sign on at White Hart Lane.
‘I’ve never been afraid that my transfer to Tottenham would not materialise,’ said Nje. ‘I never had the leaders of Arsenal on the phone, they only contacted my agent. My choice was made, I was determined to join Tottenham. ‘Here I will evolve under the orders of Mauricio Pochettino, a coach who plays youngsters and progresses.’

'We are delighted to announce the signing of Clinton Njie from Olympique Lyonnais, subject to international clearance and the player receiving a work permit,' a statement on Tottenham's website read.
N'Jie, who completes the singing on his 22nd birthday, told the club's official website: 'I'm very happy to join Tottenham, such a big club in England. 'I'm still young, still growing up and it's a big challenge - the Premier League is one of the biggest leagues in the world.
'The club is ambitious and I'm ready to give my best to help the club achieve its aims. 'Like I said, I'm still learning and I'm here to give my best. I just hope I get the chance to give (back) to the club what they are giving to me. The 22-year-old flew to London for his medical on Friday and to go over personal terms.
Tottenham announced the deal the day after the club sold £26m striker Roberto Soldado to Villarreal for £12m, with Emmanuel Adebayor expected to follow the Spaniard through the exit door. Lyon had been determined to push for their valuation after Tottenham proposed initial bids of £7m and £8m.
The Ligue 1 side have signed France international midfielder Mathieu Valbuena from Dynamo Moscow and his arrival will mean highly-rated Nabil Fekir taking on a more advanced role alongside Alexandre Lacazette.

Clinton Njie has confirmed his move to Tottenham Hotspur, with the Cameroonian striker thanking current club Lyon and their supporters before declaring that he is set to embark upon a new chapter of his career at White Hart Lane.
With Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado both expected to move on during the remaining weeks of the transfer window, and no striker named on the subs bench for his side's 2015/16 opening day defeat to Manchester United, manager Mauricio Pochettino is in dire need of attacking reinforcements to ease the pressure on last season's top scorer Harry Kane.
Although the likes of Saido Berahino, Charlie Austin, Javier Hernandez and Breel Embolo have all been linked with prospective moves to Tottenham over recent weeks, Njie has emerged as the most likely signing after Lyon manager Hubert Fournier revealed on 13 August that negotiations over a transfer were "well-advanced".
The Telegraph reports that the deal is set to be worth an initial £10m ($15.6m) with a further £2m in add-ons and that the 11-cap Cameroon international was due to travel to London for a medical. Njie looks to have left supporters in no doubt as to his future with a departing message issued via his official Instagram account.
