The new anti terrorism law recently passed in Cameroon seems to be changing the strategy of the Nigerian Islamic sect, Boko Haram with 7 captured Boko Haram terrorists claiming to be “simply armed robbers”. The Boko Haram militants were arrested by Cameroon defence forces at Ouli in the district of Mbotoro in the East Region.
The militants were caught with heavy military hardware alongside documentation bearing directives on how to seized the Divisional Officer for Ouli and take him hostage. Cameroon Concord learnt that upon interrogation the militants revealed that they were armed robbers and not members of the Boko Haram terrorist group. Ouli is the capital of Mbotoro district bordering the Central African Republic.
