The young Apejes FC demonstrated its agility by overpowering the famous Bamboutous FC Of Mbouda during the biggest sporting event in the country chaired by President Paul Biya.
Twenty year old, Frank Thierry Boya, an international midfielder and who plays for Apejes FC exhibited his brilliance and scored two goals, all during the second half of play.
It is worth noting that, the 2016 winners of the Cameroon Cup, Apejes of Mfou has been existing just for ten years and started participating in league 1 games three years ago.
The fifty year old Bamboutous FC that pulled over more than half of the crowd at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium this Sunday 30th October 2016 will have expected to celebrate its five decades of existence by raising the highly solicited trophy.
Eventhough both teams were at this stage for the first time, Bamboutous has been one of the local football teams that have made a name at the league 1 championship and even at the international scene through her participation at the international scene like the UNIFAC Cup and the CAF Cup amongst others.
According to the visibly happy 26 year Coach of Apejes, Oumarou Sokba,the youthfulness of his team made a difference in the competition.
The winners, Apejes of Mfou takes over the trophy from UMS of Loum, 2015 title owners of the Cup of Cameroon.

Some days to the confrontation between Bamboutos and Apejes of Mfou in this year's cup finals, the temperature has continued to mount in the two camps. With the grand finale scheduled for next Sunday, yesterday Wednesday, Sports and Physical Education Minister Dr Pierre Bidoung Mpkatt, presided a preparatory meeting that saw the participation of the two finalist, Bamboutos and Apejes.
Apart from the instructions given to the two finalist for a perfect cup finals, the Sports boss also announced that each of the finalist will have 10MFCFA to enable them prepare for the finals on Sunday

The Official draw against the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations has landed the indomitable Lions of Cameroon in Group A, alongside Gabon, Guinea Bissau, and Burkina Faso. The other adversaries have been grouped as follows; for the group B pairings, we have Algeria, Tunisia, Senegal and Zimbabwe.
Cote d’Ivoire, DR Congo, Morocco and Togo constitute Group C. Meanwhile, Group D is made up of Ghana, Mali, Egypt and Uganda.
The opening match of the competition will be fielded between the host country Gabon and Guinea Bissau. The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will throw weights with Burkina Faso during their first encounter. The just ended draw ceremony organized in Libreville-Gabon was attended by the president of the Confederation of African Football, The president of the Republic of Gabon and other football dignitaries in the African continent. It is worth noting that, the biggest African football jamboree to be hosted by Gabon kicks starts on January 17- February 5 2017.

Africa’s flagship football tournament the African Cup of Nations takes place in Gabon next January. A key process in the lead up to the tournament is the group draw which takes place today in Gabon.
The specific location is at the Stade de l’Amitie in the capital, Libreville, where teams will know who they will face when the tournament finally kicks off.

African legends who helped with the draw
The first round of the draw was by Senegalese footballer Khalilou Fadiga, helped at some point by the Prime Minister of Gabon.
Francois Amegasse, a Gabonese footballer who appeared with the national football team at the 1994, 1996 and 2000 African Cup of Nations helped with stage two of the draw.
Karim Abdul Razak Tanko, a Ghanaian football coach and former midfielder is the last person to help with the final draw. He played for several clubs in the 1970s and 1980s, notably the local club Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
Popularly called the “Golden Boy”, Razak also played for the Ghana national team, helping it win the 1978 African Cup of Nations. He was named African Footballer of the Year later that year.
