For those who follow our investigated documentaries, you should have come across ''web city', the documentary that we annalysed most of the major fire disasters that have taken place in the city of Douala. This time we had to visit an electrical engineer on spot for what may have possibly caused the recent city council fire.
There are very many fake distributors in the Cameroon market. Some of these distributors can not carry the power of some equipment. There are even bulb sold in Cameroon that get to the level of causing fire.
We were shown through a thermographic camera how bulbs and wire get hot up to 80 to 100 degrees centigrade. And due to thermal factic they automatically turn to fire and are quickly conducted by the rubber conductor covering the wire. Every cable have a fire rating that we never check before buying. It is very dangerous. Most of those products are brought in from China.

The Commonwealth Journalists Association, CJA Cameroon has observed in total disbelief, shock and consternation, manipulative steps taken to cheat and disqualify English Speaking candidates at the competitive entrance examination into the Police Corps in Cameroon, the written part of which was taken on Saturday the 28th of March, 2015.
While questions in the French Language were clear, concise and written in good grammar, those meant for candidates of English expression were presented in a language unfamiliar to the Anglo Saxon world. The net consequence of this was that the questions could not be understood and interpreted, making answers to them seemingly impossible even to those who shall eventually be examiners.
The question we ask is who can respond to an interrogation which reads thus; who shall represent each member of the National Assembly? Or worse still; who shall represent each Senator? And that is just the tip of the iceberg, as the entire question paper for inspectors of police was in a strange language.
This deliberate resolve to sideline Anglophones at the said examination is unambiguously demonstrated, as from the point go, the playground is not level for all participating candidates. At the end of it all, and without any element of surprise, there would be no Anglophones on the final list, a thing that is neatly desired and implemented.
This other incident is one provocation too many, coming after the IRIC saga where Anglophones are permanently set aside, the total Francophonisation of ENS/ENSET Bambili and the appointment of mainly Francophone judges to the North West Appeals Court where Common Law lawyers found themselves being forced to make submissions only in French.
CJA- Cameroon notes with dismay, that such separatist, tribalist and exclusionist measures are being taken at a time the country is faced with a common challenge of protecting our territorial integrity and when everyone is expected to show and enjoy a feeling of belonging to one nation with one objective which is working towards emergence by the year 2035.
CJA- Cameroon therefore calls on the powers that be, to without delay, cancel the said examination in the interest of national unity, social justice and peace which is indispensable in the economic and political development of our country, Cameroon.
Signed;
HRH Chief Foanyi Nkemayang Paul
President

A new born baby was abducted on Sunday evening at a maternity clinic in Yaoundé situated opposite the police academy in Tsinga, Cameroon Concord has learnt. According to information revealed by the police department, Djouala Judith a lady in her thirties, gave birth to a child on Sunday, March 29, at around 10am. Tired from birth, the young mother dozed between 18 hours and 18h 30. It was at that time that the child was abducted by an unknown individual.
Some patients at the clinic who spoke to Cameroon Concord expressed shocked that the incident took place in the vicinity of the police academy. Kidnapping of new born babies are not a new phenomenon. In January 2012, the abduction of a baby belonging to a certain Tchatchou Vanessa, a young 17 year old girl at the time who had given birth, became a state palaver prompting President Biya to fire the director of the General Hospital at Ngousso where the abduction took place. For now, the mother has been placed in solitary confinement.

CRTV's General Manager AMADOU VAMOULKE has responded again to an invitation from a judge of the Special criminal court to discuss charges concerning the collection and non-payment into state treasury of the audio-visual tax through its Marketing and Communications Agency CMCA. According to former CMCA Director Mme Antoinette Essomba who was arrested some five months ago, she and Vamoulke shared the booty instead of paying the said cash into state treasury in 2004 and 2006. Cameroon Concord now understands she is attempting to involve Vamoulke claiming the CRTV General Manager had continued with the embezzlement activity of his predecessor Prof. GERVAIS MENDO ZE, who is yet to answer charges of massive embezzlement at CRTV during his 17 year reign. Our chief intelligence officer in Yaounde who is covering the happenings at the Special Criminal Court reported earlier today that Vamoulke's convocation to the Special Criminal Court is alleged to be spear- headed by a top government official at the Civil cabinet at the Presidency, a former CRTV Journalist, who wants him put aside, so that they can propose retired Journalist ZACHARY NGNIMAN from the Adamaoua Region to replace Vamoulke from the Far North. This scheme has untold tentacles aimed at diverting public opinion from the MENDO ZE's case, and to tarnish the hard earn reputation and good name of Amadou Vamoulke, a graduate of the Yaoundé International School of Journalism and who was the youngest of his batch, and came first, ahead of Minister Biyiti Bi Nsam, Jean Francois Mebenga, GM Jérôme Mvondo. Meanwhile former civil servants, state agents and state contract workers who served at CRTV between 1988 and 2004 are now filling complaints at the Ministry of Finances against MENDO ZE's illegal deduction of 10 percent of their salaries, which was meant to be paid into the coffers of the National Social Insurance fund CNPS towards their retirement, but that money was diverted into Mendo ZE's pockets during 16 and the half years. |
