There was drama in Nghoketunjia Division of the North West Region recently, as fuming Bangolan villagers stormed the Ndop High Court, spoiling to banish their traditional ruler, Fon Chafah Isaac XI for militarising the village again.
The Fon was earlier this year, accused of mass arrest, torture and imprisonment of his own subjects, following the escalation of the Bangolan chieftaincy crisis.
When the matter was brought before the Ndop High Court, some irate villagers trekked from Bangolan to Ndop, but the tense atmosphere forced the presiding Magistrate of the case, Justice Neba Wilson, to adjourn the matter to June 28, 2017.
Bangolan has been passing through a torrid time following spades of bloody confrontations that have left some villagers dead.
Fon Chafah’s subject recently stormed the palace threatening to banish him from the village for disrespecting the tradition of the land, but they met heavily armed militia who were drafted in by the Fon to protect him.
A scuffle had ensued between the heavily armed troops and the restive villagers in which some 48 villagers were arrested and some soldiers were wounded in the wake of the skirmish.
The Bangolan chieftaincy crisis started in February 2016 when supporters of Fon Chafah’s brother invaded the palace demanding the departure of Fon Chafah. This led to the death of many villagers including Chafah’s brother who died in Foumban, West Region, days after he was released from detention.

Two men are accused of illicitly sitting in for the Francophone sub-system final year exam, the Baccalaureate, at the Government Bilingual High School of Bamenda. An exam which was not even supposed to hold in the sacred lands of Southern Cameroons.
It was discovered after thorough checks that, the two who had presented themselves as candidates on the 30 May 2017, didn't have their names on the list of students authorised to take the examination.
Even though still not yet understood how manage, the men are said to have written the morning session and had now come for the afternoon session before being apprehended.
The head of the examination center revealed that, they are still to know the motives behind this act. The accused are presently in police detention, who are investigating to know why the two individuals had to engage in such an adventure.
This is happening when Ambazonians are struggling for a brighter future for their children, most of whom are home and not schooling, just because they can no longer bear the crooked regime's machinations.

This comes as a result of videos published online some weeks ago, in which the dishonest men were seen misbehaving at their Bonaberi duty post in Douala, just like their corrupt government.
Minister Joseph Beti Assomo with their regime, now acting as the holy yard sticks, reacted by relieving the two young milltary men of their duties, as stated in a communique he signed.
This was after investigations had been carried out and which proved them guilty.
They will further be tried before the millitary tribunal in Yaounde, where they will answer to questions on the crime they are accused of committing.
While waiting for the judgement day, more investigations are being carried out to get to the root of the matter.
The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defense Joseph Beti Assomo, added in his communique that, under the instructions of his bully boss Paul Biya, all the military heads of service are charged with ensuring the proper behaviour of every member of the armed force under their authority.

In a way to stop poaching in the Korup National Park in the South West region of Cameroon, the authorities have devised a way to discourage illegal hunters from hunting down the game found in the Reserve by handing over motor bikes to the hunters who have been killing the animals for a livelihood. The hunters will now become bike riders to earn a living and in that way, stopping illegal hunting of endangered species inside the Korup National Park.
Tuesday the 23rd of MAY, ten hunters including Sona Ebongwe handed over their guns to the authorities and signed for new motor bikes which according to Mr. Sona, is a life changing opportunity. He also said “I am very happy for what the authorities have done to us, hunting is quite a risky deal because we can either be caught by the administration and brought to justice or killed by a raging elephant or buffalo. Now I will have to spend most of my time around people not the bush.”
Poaching has been one of the major factors reducing the number of wildlife in the Game Reserve and the authorities have been working day and night for measures to curb this illicit practice among the villages around the area and this idea seems to be working.
