This incident took place in the Bakweri town of the South West Region, where the corpse of this young girl was found lying head-down behind their house, after three days of intensive search.
Ekale Adele Elise as her names were gotten, went missing on Sunday the 25 of June 2017. Her dead body was only discovered on Tuesday, deposited beside their home. She is suspected to have been murdered and then her corpse carried and dropped where she was found by her residence.
It is worth noting that, she was still putting on the “kaba” which she was last seen with before she went missing on Sunday.
Police officers have opened investigations to figure out who could have perpetuated the ungodly act.
Insecurity is what now obtains in the Anglophone regions of Cameroon, as this only adds to the numerous mysterious deaths that have been recorded in the two regions in particular and the country in general.
This equally comes at a time when the Vice Chancellor of the Buea University has been changed, presumably due to her incompetence in managing her students who have so far not been happy with the system of Education they had under her.

With the rains on the morning of the 27 June, a bike rider and his client crossing the Bonaberi Bridge fell just under the rolling tyres of a heavy duty truck which did not hesitate to crush both of them.
The wet rails is not friendly with vehicle tyres for when vehicle tyres come in contact with it, it tends out to be a slippery frenzy. We met one Mr. Stephan who was a victim and he said “all bike riders running on this road are quite aware of this trap and they tend to avoid crossing the rails when wet especially when there is coming traffic. This rider seems to be new and he did not have a second chance to correct his mistake for the incident claimed his life together with his client.
The corps of the two men has been taken to the Laquintinie Hospital Mortuary.

A man of about 42 is currently in detention over the alleged murder of his father in Douala. Achille Ndongo, as he is identified, reportedly sold the unique shop of the family at a market in New-Deido.
His father got frustrated , fell sick and was taken to hospital where he died of cerebral-vascular injury on June 20, Cameroon-Info.Net reports, citing Le jour.
The man had reportedly told his father he wanted to travel to Canada. His dad had welcomed the idea yet cautioned that they needed to save enough money with time.
The desperate man is believed to have suggested selling the shop but the father would not digest it, as the shop was the breadbasket of the family.
However, Achille appeared to have stood his ground and finally sold the shop.
The new owner had appeared before Achille's father , making the senior man frustrated beyond repair.
When Achille learned of the drama , he went to accuse his mum of killing his father. The Logbesso Gendarmerie intervened and arrested Achille, whom one of the officers believed "is mentally sick".
The notion of going abroad is a disease in Cameroon and Africa as a continent. People gather money for decades to just to make their to the other side of the defence where the grass is believed to be greener.

Dozens of people including Chinese Nationals have been arrested in Betari Oya in the East region by Cameroonian Soldiers for violating environmental rules and illegal immigration.
The matter has been tabled at the Court of First Instance while one of the Chinese Nationals raised a point on irregularities in the court procedure. Those arrested are being held at the Gendarmerie Brigade at Betari Oya.
The Chinese miners are out to recover the money spent to get mining certificates and so they do not want to incur an additional cost in discharging waste from the mining process. By so doing, they tend to pollute the environment which is a violation of environmental rules they themselves signed not to go against on their contract form.

After an investigation led by the company commander of Mbouda, Patrice Dong Asseko, the whereabouts of a hidden “Banga” farm were discovered on the 19th of May 2017.
The farm was spotted in the Batcham sub-division of the Bamboutous Division in the West region. This investigation began as a result of complaints by the population of that locality, about a farm where the illegal crop was cultivated. The forces of law and order from there, took the matter into their hands. “This is an operation which started a week ago. Following the information that we received, we began an investigation. And luckily for us, on Monday 19 May, we saw the farm” Patrice Dong revealed to La Nouvelle expression Newspaper.
By 10:00pm of that faithful day, the crime area was identified in the Balewang village. The owner of the farm, had his Indian hemp ground some 30 kilometres from the Mbouda town. This made accessibility to the area difficult. According to the forces of law and order, they had to walk on foot for over 25 kilometres before arriving there.
The owner of the farm in question, has not yet been apprehended, but the population was assured that, not long from then, he will be fished out from where ever he is hiding.
The Cameroon law is against the cultivation of this drug as it increases the crime wave in the country. Most youths nowadays, after consuming the illicit product, tend to pose a threat to the people around them.

La Republique is a country of never-ending wonders. The question of wrong and misleading translations has become an integral part of our nation. In spite of the huge presence of so-called National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism, terrible translations still prevail, especially during examinations.
The case of the Advanced School of Mass Communication in Yaounde is so shocking that one does not know where to start from. This is a school that trains journalists and other members of the communications chain.
Let us start with the student identity card. On this card delivered a few days ago, “Nom” is translated into English as Name while “Prenom” is replaced by Surname. Most shockingly, “Matricule” in French is unaltered in English.
“Prenom” in English is given name, first name or Christian name . “Matricule “refers to registration number.
The worst part of the story is the case of the end-of-year exams that ended on Friday. “Les caracteristiques du recit journalistique” was translated into English as “What are the characteristics of the storytelling?” on a question paper for Level II, journalism students.
Another question on the same paper followed in the same line: “Comment s’articulent les relations entre les agents technico-artistiques en studio et sur le plateau?” The English version of this question read: “Relationship between the anchor and technical artistic agents in the studio and on the TV stage.”
We may not be translators yet there is every indication that something is wrong with these translations.
In case you still doubt it, the examiners realized that everything was not going right and came in to propose an even-worse version of the second question in English while students were already several minutes into the exam.
We may have to end here, for there are many other cases that we can still examine.
This shocking reality leaves one wondering if Cameroon does not have trained translators.
