The lone airline company in Cameroon has made it's first test flight to the chief town of the North West Region.
Camair-co is set to make the inaugural flight to Bamenda on July 20, according to Cameroon-Info.Net.
The airline company has five aircraft, three of which are used mainly locally.
Choice destinations for the company had previously been limited to most of the French-speaking regions of the nation.
The two English-speaking regions had been set aside previously.
In the wake of the unrest in West Cameroon, change has become the only permanent issue in the country, especially in favour of the oppressed English-speaking citizens.

In order to take care of the growing number of refugees flooding into Cameroon, the United Nations High Commission for Refugees lunched the recruitment of 75 Red Cross agents from Cameroon. In their six month contract, it was stated that they will be paid 15, 000FCFA daily, summing up to 450,000FCFA per month.
Cameroon-info.net further relates that, for the first four months, all went on well with their benefits being paid as the agreement stipulated. After those first months of understanding, the dealings of the following two months swayed in the opposite direction. They seemed to have been doing some charity work, as they did not see a penny after their hard work.
“We were recruited for a duration of six weeks for the censorship of refugees in the course of the establishment of their biometric cards. This contract was terminated on May 30th 2017 but presently speaking, the Red Cross still owes us two months of unpaid salaries” one of the complainants revealed.
According to Gilbert Tonye, the National coordinator of the accused party, “we are aware of the fact that we owe them salaries of two months but we do not have the money in liquid form. In order for the money to be available here, were need to undergo a very long procedure. The money has to leave London to Geneva then Nairobi before arriving in Cameroon. I don’t know why these children are going to the media to unveil a problem whose solution is almost found.”

The communication department of the Ministry of Higher Education (MINSUP), announced on the 1st of July 2017 that, the Chinese enterprise Sichuan Telecom has commenced with the production of the laptops promised by the Head of State Paul Biya last year 2016, Cameroon-info.net explains.
“The fabrication of 500,000 laptops which were financed with 75 billion FCFA borrowed from the Chinese Exim Bank, have started in the Sichuan telecommunications company” Minsup announced. They further said that, this Chinese company that is in charge of the production, uses a prototypal technology, which enhances the rapid manufacture of laptops.
“With the prototypal technology, 500, 000 laptops can be manufactured within the space of one week. After this, they could now be assembled and sent to Cameroon. Universities have started the enrolment of their students on the laptop lists; some are even through with it”, the communication department cited
It is on the 27th of June 2016, that Jacques Fame Ndongo signed a deal with the concerned company named “e-national higher education”, which was meant to increase the usage of ICTs by Cameroonian students.
As the Minister was signing this deal he explained that, through this initiative, Paul Biya has decided to put in place a project titled “one student one computer” as he ordered the allocation of computers to every student registered in any State or private institution in Cameroon.
The Minister of Higher Education pointed out that, “This is about a presidential engagement, which has as objective to ensure the possession by every university student of a technological tool which will help them in their studies. It should be noted that this gift only concerns those enrolled in higher institutions of learning during the academic year 2016-2017”.

At least six have died in Tiben, in the Batibo Sub Division of the North West Region after consuming palm wine, reports Cameroon-Info.Net.
Former mayor of the locality, Tenoh Lawrence has confirmed the tragedy, according to the same news site.
The seventh person is said to be critically ill and is receiving medical attention from the Saint John of God Hospital.
Reports say the seven men had drunk the liquor and eaten cola nuts on Saturday. The following morning six of them were found dead while the seventh was seriously ill.
The divisional officer of the area including the state council and some gendarme officers have gone to the scene to assess the situation.
The real cause of the tragedy is yet to be uncovered.
Palm wine is a whitish substance obtained from palm trees or bamboos.
It's a choice drink for most people in Cameroon, especially those who cannot afford to drink beer or other expensive drinks.

The Association of 'Professional' Translators and Interpreters had a sports walk across major streets in Yaoundé on Saturday.
They wanted to interact with each other as well as make their profession better known to the public.
I wonder if their profession is to be made known by sports walks instead of concrete work that can leave a mark on the public.
These so-called translators and interpreters have been in this country all this while yet misleading translations still prevail during examinations.
It's hard for me to believe that these men and women exist when "les cadres" is translated into English as "the cadres" during competitive entrance exams.
It's unacceptable that these guys should parade our city when "palais des sports" is simply put in English as "sports palace".
It's pretty ugly that these men and women should take our streets hostage when "matricule" is used on students' identification documents to mean registration number.
I can't swallow this walk when "bougie" is translated into English as "candle", when the intended meaning is "plug".
To err is human, of course. But it's still difficult for one to digest this, given that such terrible cases come up during well organized public events, especially public examinations.
Either they are incompetent or are being relegated to the bench. A mystery we may not understand anytime soon.

At least two of Biya's new BIR recruits have disappeared into thin air.
The two soldiers are part of the 433 men currently in training in the South West Region.
Three others have fallen sick, according to state-run broadcaster CRTV.
The training programme set for the Rapid Intervention Battalion is not candy for children. It's hard. Some trainees even die in the course of the programme.
Yet the real issue is not the toughness of the training.
Most people defy the necessary requirements for the job. It's not uncommon to see men above 30 running with bags of sand in the name of training.
Others join the job because an uncle or a friend has a say in how the meat is shared.
Biya has embarked on special reforms in his country, as he battles with the Boko Haram insurgency and the unrest in West Cameroon.
Five thousand soldiers and 2500 gendarme officers are to be recruited soon, says the minister of defence.
