Executive members of the South West Chiefs Conference (SWECC) drawn from Ndian, Meme, Lebialem, Kupe-Muanenguba and Manyu Divisions of the South West Region of Cameroon, have decided to ostracise Fako Division from all SWECC’s-related activities.
According to the Chiefs, “we cannot allow one Division to take the entire Region hostage.”
They traditional rulers took the decision in Buea recently, during an executive committee meeting of SWEEC, chaired by its President, Nfon Senator Victor Mukete.
Unfortunately, the Fako Chiefs boycotted the event. The decision of the chiefs to ostracised Fako Division from all SWECC’s related activities stem from the fact that, Fako Division was supposed to host the next SWECC Elective General Assembly of and also produce the next SWECC President.
But the Fako Chiefs have been fighting among themselves over who should succeed Nfon Mukete as SWECC President.
While Chief Njombe Johnson want the throne, Chiefs Etina Monono and Samuel Epupa, said Njome, a traditional novice, cannot lord over First Class chiefs like them.
In fact, the infighting among the Fako Chiefs made the former Senior Divisional Officer, SDO of Fako, Georges Zang III, to suspend the SWECC Elective General Assembly in February, 2017.
The custodian of culture and tradition back then fumed that an SDO of one Division has no right to suspend the activities of a Regional Association like SWECC.
They argued that the statute of their association warrants that such action should only be taken by a Governor, and not a mere SDO of a particular Division.
The Chiefs resolved that with all the humiliationa SWECC has suffered as a result of the infighting among Fako Chiefs, they should be left out of the association.
Apart from ostracising Fako, the Division was also stripped of her hosting right of the next Elective General Assembly and the right to produce the next SWECC President.

According to information revealed by reliable sources, the Cameroonian Minister of Transport Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo’o is involved in shady deals which the French forces of law and order are investigating.
They plan to arrest him on his next visit to Paris after they must have gone far with investigations and had enough proof of the crime he is being accused of. If he is arrested, it will be on charges of corruption and fraud.
Sources say that, he had been followed up on this matter for four years now. It has finally been concluded that he is one of the most corrupt Cameroonian authorities that have been visiting France.
A Gabonese top state official, Maixent Accrombessi the former Director of Cabinet in Ali Bongo’s administration, was arrested in a similar situation by the French Judiciary police in 2015, before being released later on.

The inaugural flight from the Yaounde-Nsimalen airport to Bamenda in the North West Region, is expected to take place today 20 July 2017.
This comes after a test flight took place on 4 July 2017 from Douala to Bamenda. The duration of this flight is estimated to be shorter than the one which will be carried out today given that instead of the 45 minutes which were used for the flight, the Yaounde- Bamenda distance will take 50 minutes.
At 10:30am, the Camairco plane will take off from the Nsimalen airport and by 11:20am, it will be landing in Bamenda.
The Minister of Transport Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo’o will be there to witness everything that shall be taking place.
An initiative such as this one comes with joy but that will not be the case in Bamenda. This is because most of the people resident in that part of the Country are asking for something else; their rights and freedom, thus they consider this move as a motive by the government to divert their attention.

The people of Mbengwi in the North West region are still carrying their hands on their heads in total disbelief and consternation about the disappearance of two of their Fons. The two Fons of Mbengwi and Kai met their ancestors in a ghastly accident along the Bamenda-Yaounde highway. The enigma that has to be unraveled is the raison-d'etre of the journey in the first place.
Tongues are squeaking here and there but one fact is clear; they were going for some unorthodox mission. The aim was to meet the minister and discuss some underhand methods to confuse the anglophone problem. The claim after the accident is that they were going for a Meta Cultural and Development meeting.
When we look at the aim and claim, so many questions come to mind. Who invited them for the meeting? Is Mrs Mbah Acha a Fon? Why we're only few Fons willing to attend the meeting? Why was there an attendance sheet in the Meta Fons meeting that afternoon? Why did some Fons refuse to sign the attendance sheet?
Why did the Fon of Mbengwi change his car in Bamenda? If only Fons were invited, what was honorable Fombi doing in that delegation? What emergency do Meta people have that the Fons had to travel by night to solve? Which is less cumbersome, the minister going to meet the Fons or Vice- versa?
Why , why, why .......... The answers to these whys and wherefores are blowing in the wind.
The end has finally blown so we are all seeing the anus of the fowl.

It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say Cameroon is one of the countries on earth with good laws which are never respected. Despite the provisions of the 1999 law which States that, a general manager and his deputy shall be appointed either by a 2/3 members of board of directors or presidential decree for a period of three years renewable twice and not more than nine year in special situations, some Beti indigenes, tribe men of mr Biya still go against this splendid legal framework put in place. The record holder of them all is Ernest Ela Evina, the general manager of the national center for studies and mechanization of agriculture (CENEEMA) in Cameroon.
Mr Ela Evina has been at the helm of this very important center since creation in 1972 giving him 43 years in the same office. Some observers say this is unique in the world even as the center's set objectives are still far from being attained nor matter the noise made by the Yaoundé government that the country has embraced second generation agriculture that entails the use of machines. The unpopular GM, mr Ela Evina received new tractors from the government by year 2000 aimed at boosting the agro sector in the country but to the greatest dismay of all and sundry, these tractors were distributed to ministers and top ranking officials in Cameroon and today, most of these machines are lined up in the packing lots of these top barons and in bad state most of them from the Beti tribe meanwhile these tractors are highly needed in the north west and northern regions for the cultivation of rice and maize.
However, mr Ela who has been forgotten in his post is said to be the remaining official who was appointed by Cameroon's former president Ahmadou Ahidjo. Apart from mr Ela's disturbing record, another GM who has won mr Biya's heart is Adolphe Moudiki, who has been discretely at the head of the national oil and gas company ( SNH) for 24 years. Mr Moudiki is a magistrate and former justice minister.
Amongst others who are actually working in absolute illegality as per the 1999 lwa in its sections 47 sub 1 include; Pierre Ekoule Mouange, GM of the Douala stock exchange market has been in office for 12 years, on his part, Michael Ndoping GM of the cocoa and coffee interprofessional board is still there after 11years, Mekoulu Mvondo another tough Beti mafia has ruined the national social insurance fund ( CNPS) for close to 10 years today with no major results to boost of as the enterprise is rather rocked with terrible scandals of embezzlement. This gross disregard of the law and longitivity in office, is said to be the raison d'être of the heavy inertia that characterises the 34 year old regime of Paul Biya.

Four employees of the Buea Council, where Ekema Patrick is Mayor, organised a protest on Monday morning of 17 July.
They went to the residence of the Governor of the South West Region to demand 24 months of unpaid salaries. The protesters say they are determined to go to the end of this.
“They want to see where we are going to end. We will prove to them that, we are determined to continue till we obtain what we want. It is our right, it is our money. We don’t know what we will do to send our children to school. The Mayor is building houses everywhere and changes his workers all the time” Hans Manga one of the protesters reacted to Equinox radio.
Mayor Ekema is presently in hot sauce with his fake certificate drama. All of his bad deeds seem to be pouring out in their numbers as he is struggling to come to terms with fact that he is a fraud.
