The phenomenon of ghost towns in Bamenda is making businesses adopt new strategies. As the people of West Cameroon embark on a three-day weekly ghost town (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday), most businesses have decided to exploit Sunday.
Reports say this increase may span the whole of September.
This is meant to prepare the people for eventful independence in October, they say.

Minister of water and Energy, Basile Atanga Kouna, says his hands are clean in a case wherein he is accused of swindling 200 billion FCFA, money which was meant for the development of water schemes in Yaounde so as to reduce water shortage. The State's man was recently called up at the Presidency of the Republic to give his own part of the story.
The La Republic Minister is suspected to have over budgeted the project which was in his charge, so as to have a swell in his bank accounts. The project was estimated to cost 450 million dollars but it was discovered that, the figures had shifted right up to 800 million dollars.
Cameroon is said to have made available just 15% of the money needed, that is 125 million dollars, 86 billion in FCFA. Even at that level, nothing has been done on the project since January 2017. But rather, the sum of 1 billion Fcfa has been spent on the construction of parking lots, and tracks for Biya's helicopter.
Till date, the population is facing water crisis. A good number of them have contracted water borne diseases such as typhoid and some even die, while morons of the dictatorial regime embezzle money whenever it wills them.

Hackers are currently spreading multi-platform virus via Facebook Messenger. I presume most of our readers here at Cameroon Concord must have received the below message on Messenger from their contacts:
??? Oh my goodness this isn't cool at all I'm deleting my facebook messenger. Everyone we all need to cancel Facebook book until they change what They Are doing it a shame every one watch this.so I will be shutting down all of it PLEASE CHECK THIS OUT!!!!
Please do not click on the link.Hackers are using acebook Messenger to deliver the video link, that looks like it is coming from Foxxnews to tick users to click the link which will then redirect the user to a fake website that contains another link to a malicious software. The malware is spreading through compromised accounts, clickjacking, and hijacking browsers. Once you have clicked on the link within Facebook Messenger, it redirects you to a Google doc video thumbnail. The thumbnail generated is based on the user’s own images which lead’s them to click yet again. If you click the video thumbnail, you will be redirected based on which browser and operating system you’re using.
This is where the multi-platform aspect comes into play. This means users of Windows, macOS, and Linux are all vulnerable to this. So concord readers, please don’t click on any video links sent to you via Facebook Messenger even from your close friends. If you do want to click, it’s best to verify with the sender that they actually did send that link.

Two people died at the scene of a crash between a truck belonging to SUPERMONT and a car on the Douala-Tiko road precisely at Likomba early today.
An oxblood Toyota car and a heavy duty truck crashed on Tuesday at about 1 pm at Likomba.
Today, most drivers are more concerned with the amount of money they make from each trip, than with their passengers' safety. This is why over-loading has become the order of the day and almost a "legalized crime" among transporters. The situation is even getting out of hand with more commercial motorcycles now plying our roads.

The Crtv journalist, Adele Mbala, who was temporarily relieved of her duties, will resume work on Monday 4 September.
Evelyne Essomba who has been presenting the 8:30pm news since her colleague was sidelined, disclosed at the end of Thursday's news cast that viewers should get set to meet Adele Mbala on Monday.
This comes after Adele made an error on 15 May 2017, reading a false list of newly appointed members of Macron's administration. Consequently, she was stripped of her functions, as director of information on TV and as presenter of the 8:30pm news on Crtv.
Charles Ndongo, the General Manager of the National Station, had to apologize to the French government as well as the Cameroonian public on behalf the self-ridiculed journalist.
While some look at it as something normal which can happen to anybody, others think she should have been severely sanctioned for making such a mistake.
