Brigitte Soppo the executive director of SICC, is involved in a situation in which her company was reported to have robbed Cameroonians of over a billion FCFA. she was called before the judiciary police on 14 September to give an account of what had happened.
The construction company, the Southwest International Construction Company (SICC) that was presented as an American group of people, who launched activities in Cameroon in 2010, started receiving hell from the public, after they got into an agreement to construct lodging facilities in Yassa Douala, which they never did after having collected money from people and boasting of 40 years of experience.
Immediately they were given the project, they convinced in no space of time over 182 people both within and without Cameroon to get involved in their activities. These Cameroonians who were now interested in buying the houses to be constructed by SICC, had to make an upfront payment of 10% of the amount for the kind of house they preferred to go in for.
Credit Fonciere came into the deal as the bank where the buyers had to pay their money. Most of them paid between 2.5 and 47 million to the bank.
Seven years later today, the families that paid for the houses have seen nothing. They even went to credit foncier to ask for their money but the bank told them SICC had removed everything and gone silent, while Soppo claims those people complaining had been given back their money.

A special report by the Committee to Protect Journalists.
The Committee for the Protection of Journalists will publish its report entitled "Journalists, not terrorists: in Cameroon, counter-terrorism legislation is used to silence critics and dissent"
In 2014, Cameroon enacted a broad anti-terror law as part of its effort to counter the extremist group Boko Haram, but authorities are using it to arrest and threaten local journalists who report on the militants or unrest in the country’s English-speaking regions. A presidential decree in August 2017 ended legal proceedings against at least four journalists, but the laws that were used against them are still in place. RFI broadcaster Ahmed Abba remains in jail. With elections due to take place next year, many of Cameroon’s journalists say they are too scared to cover politics or sensitive issues.

Vehicles plying the Douala-Yaounde Highway were grounded for several hours on Monday, September 18, following the collapse of part of the Highway at Ebombe, a locality on the outskirts of Edea.
Vehicles that either left Douala or Yaounde that morning were forced to wait at the truncated spot until a new road deviation was created, while trouble-shooting and eye servant authorities were running helter-skelter to look for emergency solutions.

A woman has died as result of a stray bullet which got her right in her business place, in the Nyalla-chateau market in Douala. This incident took place on Thursday 14 September.
Eyewitnesses say that the bullet came from a military target practicing field, beside the market. One of the observers recount that he was with the lady before she died. They were discussing about the cleaning of the marketplace.
All of a sudden they heard a sound as if it was someone who had farted. They looked around but it didn't seem to be the case. They only saw the woman crumbling down and when they went closer to her, blood was seen oosing out of her head.
After noticing her in that state, she was immediately taken to the hospital but she ended up dying.
