Marko Arnautovic's second-half goal gave Stoke City a 1-0 victory over Chelsea to pile yet more pressure on the absent Jose Mourinho. Chelsea boss Mourinho was not at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday as he served a one-match stadium ban following his sending off against West Ham, and there was little to cheer the Portuguese - reportedly watching on television from the team's hotel - as his side fell to a result that marked his worst league run as a manager. Defeat was the seventh in their first 12 Premier League matches for the Londoners - the first time any defending champions have struggled so badly, as well as a personal unwanted record number of defeats in a league season for Mourinho.
The last time Chelsea lost so many games so early in a top-flight campaign, 1978-79, they ended up being relegated - and although they will surely not suffer that same fate this term, they are now 16th in the table, just three points clear of the bottom three. Arnautovic's acrobatic goal ultimately proved the difference, as the Austrian forward scored with an excellent finish after 53 minutes. Pedro shot against the post as Chelsea pushed for a leveller late on, but that was the closest they went to finding an equaliser. The absent Mourinho made two changes to his starting line-up, bringing in Eden Hazard and Pedro for Cesc Fabregas and Oscar, who both dropped to the bench. Stoke were unchanged, with Jon Walters starting in attack following the news earlier on Saturday that he had signed a new contract with the club until 2018. The hosts made a bright start, as Xherdan Shaqiri shot off-target, before Glen Johnson collected a pass from Bojan, turned on to his left foot and sent a placed shot towards the corner to force Asmir Begovic into a diving one-handed save against his former club.
It was then home goalkeeper Jack Butland's turn to impress when he got up well to push a dipping long-range effort from Ramires over the crossbar. Walters headed onto the roof of the net after good work from Shaqiri down the right, while Diego Costa’s shot was saved by Butland with his legs prior to half-time. Stoke opened the scoring eight minutes after the break. A superb slide-rule pass from Shaqiri found Johnson in space on the right and the former Liverpool defender's cross was helped on by Walters before bouncing to Arnautovic. The Austrian netted with an excellent scissor kick – his first home goal in the Premier League for 18 months. The visiting fans responded immediately with chants in support of their under-pressure manager, and Matic shot straight at Butland as Chelsea sought a response before Hazard lashed a shot off target.
They thought they had levelled soon afterwards when Willian found Pedro and the former Barcelona forward unleashed a left-footed attempt from the edge of the area, but the ball struck the foot of the post and bounced to safety. Rui Faria and Steve Holland - taking charge of the champions in Mourinho's absence - brought on Fabregas, Oscar and Loic Remy in the closing stages as they attempted to turn the game around and Hazard shot just wide after a neat passing move with 10 minutes to go. Walters missed the target with a presentable opportunity to put the game beyond doubt at the other end after being found by substitute Mame Biram Diouf, before Remy - off-balance after being clipped as he attempted to round Butland - passed up the last big opportunity to save Chelsea as their terrible start to the season continued.

That South African Olympic and Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp when he fired four shots through a locked toilet in his home is beyond doubt. But whether he will be heading back to jail for a long spell or enjoying the relative comfort of house arrest will depend on how the Supreme Court of Appeal interprets the legal principle known by the Latin words "dolus eventualis". It refers to whether a person foresees the possibility that his or her action will cause death but carries on regardless. It was the crucial element in High Court Judge Thokozile Masipa's decision in the original trial to convict Pistorius of culpable homicide instead of the more serious offense of murder.
The previously arcane phrase - which means "eventual fraud" - became ubiquitous during the seven-month trial, from conversations to news columns. When the state opened its appeal on Tuesday seeking to change the conviction to murder, one media commentator even called it "Dolus Eventualis Day". Judge Masipa said prosecutors had failed to prove Pistorius intended to kill Steenkamp, a law graduate turned model, when he fired through the toilet door at his house in an upmarket suburb of Pretoria in the early hours of Valentine's Day, 2013. Pistorius had argued that he thought an intruder was in the toilet and that he assumed his girlfriend was safely in bed and out of firing range, a version the state has rejected. "The submission we made is that there was foresight, that (when) a person (is) standing behind a door in a small cubicle, if you fire four shots into that, a person will die," prosecutor Gerrie Nel told the Supreme Court, opening the challenge on Tuesday. The prison service released Pistorius on parole last month after he had served about a year of a five-year sentence for culpable homicide, the equivalent of manslaughter.
Legal analysts say the Supreme Court could convict Pistorius of murder itself, which has a minimum 15-year sentence, order a retrial or throw out the state's appeal. The working definition of dolus eventualis in South African law, taken from the 1963 case of State vs. Malinga, suggests that the intent could apply equally with regard to the intruder Pistorius says he believed was behind the door. Pistorius was not present at the Supreme Court hearing, a stark contrast with last year's sensational trial during which the track star frequently sobbed uncontrollably as graphic details of Steenkamp's death emerged. The shooting and trial marked a sensational fall from grace for Pistorius, whose lower legs were amputated when he was a baby but who went on to become a global sporting hero, dubbed "Blade Runner" because of the prosthetic blades he used to compete. "This will be a trend-setting case, it will definitely be precedent," said advocate Inez Bezuidenhout, director of the University of the Free State's law clinic.
During a terse exchange on Tuesday, Appeal's Court Justice Eric Leach told Pistorius' lead defense counsel Barry Roux he believed Masipa's analysis of dolus eventualis "seems to be wrong". Roux, in turn, insisted Masipa had not made any errors in law, but "may or may not have committed factual errors." Some legal experts are worried that the verdict by Judge Masipa could set a bad legal precedent in a country with one of the highest crime rates in the world. "Had the judgment by Judge Masipa stood, that would have had a detrimental impact in my view on the criminal justice system," legal analyst Brenda Wardle said. The Supreme Court of Appeal is expected to rule before the end of the year.

A journalist reporting for the Cameroon radio and television has revealed that President Biya was behind the dismissal Head Coach, Volker Finke. Bihina Aime Robert made the revelation during a Sunday night show on state television. Biya reportedly raised the issue during the recent ministerial council meeting that took place on Thursday, October 15, 2015, following the defeat of the Indomitable Lions by the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The Biya remarks culminated to the holding of two important meetings that involved the Minister for Youth and Sports, the President of the Cameroon Football Federation and the German coach, Volker Finke. The sacking of the German seems to have created a backlash as our main German sponsor Puma- is now threatening to withdraw from the Lions of Cameroon.
However, our chief football correspondent hinted at the time of filing this report that some pro Biya comedians at the Cameroon Radio and Television are always trying to attach the Cameroonian dictator to any popular decision taken by administrative authorities in the country.
